ozED has launched the 2010 Letter Campaign to get the Commonwealth Government to include dental implants fully funded for ED families.

The Cleft Program covers a screw involved in the dental implantation process . The tooth that is attached to the screw is classified as cosmetic and therefore not covered by the program.  

 Australia does not have any medical professionals who specialise in ED and therefore diagnosis of some people occurs later in life.  Under the current Cleft Program rules, if the person is not formally diagnosed before they turn 22 years of age, they are not eligible for support under the cleft program.

The current campaign aims to resolve the following:

The removal of age limits on access to the Cleft Palate program for people that are affected by ED.

The inclusion of Cleft Palate Scheme item numbers to include all services required for dental implants.

A review of the current classifications of providers eligible to provide services under the Cleft Palate Program.

Inclusion of ozED representatives on all public committees relating to dental services provided under the Cleft Palate Scheme.

OzED have provided a letter that we ask you to sign and distribute. Once signed, we would appreciate these are returned to ozED as soon as possible so we can effectively petition government representatives.
